Although Big E is not currently wrestling in a WWE ring, he remains close to the company and monitors the product.

Big E has been out since fracturing his C1 and C6 vertebrae on the March 11, 2022, episode of WWE SmackDown when he was hit with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge Holland at ringside.

Big E was backstage at this week’s WWE NXT episode with the Heatwave theme. The show featured Ilja Dragunov vs. Trick Williams, NXT Heritage Cup Champion Nathan Frazer vs. Noam Dar, Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley vs. Dragon Lee and Lyra Valkyria, Baron Corbin vs. Von Wagner, and Ava vs. Ivy Nile.

The former WWE Champion shared his thoughts on Carmelo Hayes, who won the NXT Championship over Wes Lee in the main event, on Twitter.

Big E wrote, “Melo is a STAR. Couldn’t be a bigger fan of @Carmelo_WWE as a talent & professional. Looking forward to the main roster main events & world titles.”
