AEW/ROH star Brian Cage appeared on an episode of the 1 Of A Kind podcast. During the episode, he discussed various topics, including his physical condition following an injury.
Cage said, “I feel great. I’ve been cleared for a while. I’m not 100% as far as performance-based. I’m not lifting as much weight on my leg lifts and I’m not jumping just as high just yet, but I can do everything I’ve done in the ring several times. I’m doing different dynamic jumping stuff on my off days. I’m feeling good and excited. I’ve been waiting to come back. I’ve got three matches on the same day Mania weekend. It just worked out that way. I just won this battle royal, a year after I tore my quad, and the person I eliminated with Chris Masters, the guy who tore my quad.”
On having a botched knee surgery:
“The quad would’ve had me out for probably nine months, and then I chose to get right knee surgery and get a special replacement on it. That’s what kept me out longer. Long story short, they botched it. I should’ve come back in November, but I had to go back under the knife in November, and now I’m cleared from that surgery. When I found that out in October, I was pretty devastated. The whole point of getting what I got done on my right knee in June, was so that when November came around, I could be good to go instead of coming back and still having problems with my right knee.”
