Carlito is officially a free agent once again.
The former United States, Intercontinental, and Tag Team Champion confirmed today that his contract with WWE has expired and that the company has opted not to renew the deal. Carlito is now free to negotiate with and sign for any promotion.
The announcement came via Instagram, where Carlito posted a short video along with a caption that read:
“Back in business!! #fullyavailable #nocontract #libre #ready #noworries”
Carlito’s latest WWE stint began with his surprise return at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico, where he received a massive hometown ovation. The performance sparked a re-signing, and he was later incorporated into the Latino World Order (LWO) faction on SmackDown.
However, despite early momentum and the LWO storyline, Carlito’s television presence dwindled in recent months, especially after the group’s internal split. His exit brings an end to what was his second run with WWE.
Carlito initially debuted in WWE in 2004, making an immediate impact by defeating John Cena for the U.S. Title in his very first match. He later captured the Intercontinental Championship on his Raw debut, and teamed with his brother Primo to win the WWE Tag Team Championships before being released in 2010.
