Championship Galore

In the vast world of professional wrestling, few have achieved the kind of championship success that Edge has. His journey, littered with gold, has been one of resilience, skill, and pure determination.

The Gold Collection

From capturing the World Heavyweight Championship seven times to the WWE Championship four times, Edge has been a force to reckon with in the squared circle. He’s become a five-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, a one-time WWE United States Champion, and an astonishing 14-time WWE Tag Team Champion.

The variety of partners he’s held this title with – including the likes of Rey Mysterio, Christian, and even the iconic Hulk Hogan – attests to his versatility and charisma in and out of the ring.

More Than Just Championships

Titles are crucial in wrestling, but some accomplishments resonate deeper than gold. Edge, with his storied career, has achieved numerous non-title feats that cemented his legendary status.

Achievements Beyond Titles

Edge’s prowess isn’t confined to just titles. He’s the victor of both the 2010 and 2021 Men’s Royal Rumble, bagged the King of the Ring in 2001, and clinched the Money in the Bank in 2005. Adding to this impressive list are the Bragging Rights Trophy, Gold Rush Tournament, Championship Chase Tournament, and four Slammy Awards.

With accolades such as the Grand Slam Champion, Triple Crown Champion, and a deserving spot in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012, Edge’s portfolio is one of the richest in professional wrestling.

Every legend has adversaries that define their legacy. Edge’s path in the WWE saw him lock horns with some of the industry’s best, creating memories that fans cherish even today.

Battles That Defined an Era

Edge has been at the epicenter of some of wrestling’s most intense rivalries. John Cena, The Undertaker, both the Hardy brothers, Randy Orton, and Seth Rollins have all found themselves on the opposite side of the ring, staring down the “Rated-R Superstar.” Each feud, each match, has added a chapter to the storybook career of Edge.

The Tag Team Days

In wrestling, partnerships can often eclipse individual prowess. For Edge, his alliance with Christian became a staple of WWE programming, redefining tag team entertainment.

Edge and Christian’s Unbreakable Bond

Among Edge’s many alliances, none stands out more than his tag team with Christian. Their chemistry, both inside and outside the ring, was palpable. From their comedic segments to their iconic TLC matches, this duo’s impact on the tag team division remains unmatched.

An Unexpected Exit

Wrestlers rarely get to choose when they depart. For Edge, an abrupt exit due to injuries became one of the most heart-wrenching moments in wrestling history.

A Sudden Goodbye in 2011

Speculations and Decisions

The Crossroads of Edge’s Career

As per Wade Keller of PWTorch.com, despite Edge presenting his terms to WWE, they weren’t met. With his free agency and potential rumors of joining AEW, where his best friend Christian currently wrestles, the future is uncertain. On Thursday, Edge decided to address the rumors head on with a video, saying:

“Good morning everybody! This is how I look in the morning, it’s not pretty. But I needed my coffee for this.

So, I woke up to a bunch of voicemails, texts, and everything from actual friends and family, wondering what’s going on, and concerned. So I just figured I better address it.

There’s nothing going on. There’s no hard feelings between me and WWE. I love WWE. It’s my dream gig. It’s all I ever wanted to do. I didn’t come at them with some crazy contract or anything, and they didn’t deny me. I have a contract extension sitting in my inbox. I just don’t know what to do.

The first time I had to retire it was forced, and this time the choice is in my lap, and it’s a lot harder. The WWE gave me that night Friday night in Toronto, and it was the best night of my career. A lot of people will say you should retire at WrestleMania, or this or that, but it’s not their career. Friday night was really special for me, and I don’t know if that can be topped, to be perfectly honest. And if we think we can, then great. But I need to sit with it.

Just know that whatever it is that I do, whether it’s Percy Jackson, which is coming out soon, or it’s wrestling, or it’s sitting in my rocking chair, it’s because I’m having fun. And having fun at this stage in my life and raising my kids are the two most important things. So, hope that clears stuff up. I’m gonna go back to my coffee. See ya!”

The Rated-R Superstar’s Legacy

As we reach the culmination of our journey through Edge’s illustrious career, it’s evident that his impact is unparalleled. The wrestling world may evolve, but Edge’s legacy remains untarnished.
