AEW Dynamite reached a significant milestone on April 16, 2025, officially surpassing the total number of episodes produced by WCW Monday Nitro. The final Nitro episode—#286—aired on March 26, 2001. With AEW’s 287th installment, history was made as the show cemented its place as the longest-running weekly wrestling show in the history of TBS/TNT networks.

Former WCW President Eric Bischoff addressed the accomplishment on his podcast and offered sincere congratulations to AEW President Tony Khan and the entire AEW team.

“I want to congratulate Tony Khan and his entire staff,” Bischoff said. “This obviously means a lot to them, and congratulations. It does say a lot about Tony’s commitment. Tony put his own money into this.”

Though Bischoff has been critical of AEW’s product in the past, he acknowledged the scale of Khan’s achievement. “You can judge the product. I can judge the product. I often have, I just don’t watch it anymore. But the truth is, his vision, his dream, his money, his commitment. So congratulations. Because what he did isn’t easy. No matter how anybody feels about the product, it wasn’t easy and it still isn’t. So congratulations for your effort.”

Bischoff made it clear that the milestone doesn’t affect him personally, but he understands why it matters to AEW. “No, it doesn’t bother me a bit. It doesn’t mean anything to me. While it does to Tony and company, and I understand why. He put a lot of time and work and money, as I’ve just discussed. So good for them. But no, it doesn’t bother me at all.”

The comment reflects both a moment of sportsmanship from a wrestling pioneer and recognition of AEW’s growing legacy in professional wrestling history.
