Prior to this past Saturday’s IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary PPV, there were reports mentioning that Eric Young was the mystery partner of Scott D’Amore against the team of Deaner and Bully Ray after it was revealed that Young asked for his WWE release this past April following WWE’s merger with Endeavor.
Young reportedly didn’t want to work with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon since McMahon made his return to WWE in an official capacity.
Young and Scott D’Amore ended up winning the match at Slammiversary, and Young took to his Twitter to comment on his WWE departure and return to IMPACT Wrestling.
He wrote, “This felt good! This felt right! I made a hard choice and there is no doubt in my mind it was the right one!”
