ECW original Francine shared an emotional and deeply personal moment with her audience during the latest episode of her Eyes Up Here podcast, revealing that she is currently dealing with a serious health scare.
The 53-year-old “Queen of Extreme” opened the episode by explaining that she was awaiting an important callback from her doctor following a recent mammogram and ultrasound — and that the fear of what might come next had her visibly shaken.
“I’m freaking out right now. I’m literally, my heart is beating lonely and I’m freaking out. I feel like I’m gonna burst into tears,” Francine told co-host Chad at the start of the show.
She revealed that she had undergone her annual breast screening just days earlier and was caught off guard when her gynecologist personally called her, rather than the usual letter saying everything was fine.
“I don’t remember ever getting a phone call. I’ve always gotten a letter sent to me that said, ‘Hey, everything looks fine,’” she said. “So today, a number came up on my phone… and it was my gynecologist… She left me this message, and was like, ‘I just need to talk to you, because I have to go over your results.’ I’ve never gotten that before, so it shook me up a little bit.”
Francine admitted she was scared, fighting back tears throughout the episode while waiting for the doctor to return her call. “It’s just the anticipation of like, what is going to be said to me? My life could change in a matter of a minute, and I’m scared,” she shared. “It could be nothing… but I just can’t… I’m a pessimist.”
She also mentioned the recent passing of another woman from breast cancer at age 53, which only intensified her anxiety. “So it makes you think, like, oh my God, it could be me,” Francine said somberly.
The episode continued with the understanding that if the doctor called back during the recording, Francine would pause to take the call — leaving the outcome unknown for both her co-host and listeners.
Fans and fellow wrestlers have since rallied around Francine with messages of support and prayers.
