While WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg gears up for what is expected to be the final chapter of his in-ring career, his son Gage Goldberg is already being eyed as a potential second-generation superstar. However, for now, the younger Goldberg is firmly focused on a different field.
In a recent interview with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda Wrestling, Gage—currently a linebacker for the University of Colorado—opened up about his future, clarifying that while professional wrestling is definitely on the table, it’s not his primary goal at this time.
“It’s there. It’s a backup plan for sure,” Gage admitted. “Football’s a priority 100%, but it’s a backup plan. Football is my main plan, WWE is my backup plan 100%.”
The 22-year-old athlete has made occasional appearances on WWE television alongside his legendary father, and fans have long speculated about a possible in-ring debut down the line. While Gage’s focus remains on making a name for himself in college football—and potentially the NFL—his openness to a WWE future adds intrigue to the legacy of the Goldberg name.
Meanwhile, Bill Goldberg is preparing for what could be his final run in WWE, as he is set to challenge GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship in a high-stakes clash. With both father and son possibly sharing WWE storylines in the future, the Goldberg legacy may continue for another generation.
