On the latest episode of his Grilling JR podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross addressed recent rumors suggesting there was animosity between him and Ric Flair, following the Nature Boy’s comments on X (formerly Twitter). Ross firmly denied any heat between them, clarifying that the speculation is baseless.
“No, not at all. I don’t know where that came from,” Ross said. “People just want to dig up sh*t and gossip and things of that nature. But no, I have no agenda, negative or positive, with Ric. He knows I love him. He knows I respect him.”
Ross went on to share that although they haven’t spoken recently, Flair reached out early during Ross’ own battle with skin cancer—an experience Ross now knows Flair is going through himself.
“I’ve had that. So I know what he’s going through, but I haven’t spoken to Ric. He called me early on when I was diagnosed. He called me, left me a message, which was nice of him.”
JR concluded the discussion by emphasizing his respect for Flair’s legacy and expressing hope for his recovery.
“I called some of his greatest matches, which I feel honored to do… I just hope he gets healthy and feels good, and pro wrestling needs Ric Flair. He’s a big part of the fabric of our business.”
As far as Ross is concerned, all is well between the two legends.
