Kyle Fletcher, the AEW International Champion and member of the Don Callis Family, appeared on The Battleground Podcast to discuss various topics, including the potential of facing Ilja Dragunov in AEW.
Fletcher said, “I don’t know about first match. I will say that as soon as I heard the rumors that he might be a free agent, my brain went back to ‘Dang, I love Ilja.’ I loved working with him in 2019. We did I think one singles, a couple different tags and four ways, whatever else. Loved working with him then. We’ve both blossomed very much as pro wrestlers since then. We’ve both been on very different paths since then. And the thought of our paths crossing again very much excites me.”
On how Dragunov would fit in AEW:
“I would I think he would be an incredible fit at AEW. I think his passion for pro wrestling is so evident. His intensity is like nobody else. And I really would love to see how 2026 Kyle Fletcher and 2026 Ilja looks in a pro wrestling ring.”
