As anticipation builds for WWE Evolution 2, taking place on Saturday, July 13th, former WWE Women’s Champion Michelle McCool has made it clear — she’s just a phone call away.
In an interview with WrestleStar (YouTube), McCool revealed she has been training and would gladly step back into the ring if WWE reaches out. While she hasn’t yet received the call, she’s hopeful for a potential appearance — especially if it involves a Lay-Cool reunion with Layla.
“Yep, I always say I’m just a phone call away,” McCool said. “I’ve actually been in the ring a little bit, feeling pretty good. If they ask, I’ll be there. In fact, I would love a Lay-Cool reunion. I think Layla [should] finally kind of get back at the scene. But look, I’m always down to fight. I’m always ready. I have not been called, but I would love to do anything that they asked me to do…. I think I got one more. I always say I’ve got one more in me… but yes, I’m good for one more.”
McCool, who competed in the 2023 Royal Rumble and made a surprise in-ring appearance from the crowd, has remained a fan-favorite among longtime WWE audiences. Her passion for the business and contributions to women’s wrestling continue to be celebrated.
Speaking of women’s wrestling, McCool was also asked for her Mount Rushmore of women’s wrestling and shared a lineup honoring pioneers and trailblazers of the industry:
“I think you got to put May [Young] on there. I think you got to put Chyna on there. I’m gonna go, [Fabulous] Moolah also. Well, I mean, that’s who paved the way…. I’m gonna go, Sensational Sherri. I think she changed the game.”
McCool’s comments come as excitement continues to build for WWE Evolution 2, the long-awaited sequel to the all-women’s PLE first held in 2018.
