AEW star and pro wrestling veteran Rocky Romero spoke with Fightful on a number of topics, including helping to bridge the gap between wrestling promotions.
Romero said, โNo, for sure, for sure. I think thatโs one of the unique things that I bring in my skillset that maybe others donโt have and plus I try to look at it as these relationships are important because in the end, itโs a business and itโs important to make money. Itโs important to have projection for each company and each wrestler thatโs involved in all this. So in the end, I think that thatโs whatโs important. If we keep the eye on the ball of whatโs actually important, then donโt sweat the little stuff thereโs always going to be issues. Thereโs always going to be problems. Thereโs going to be disagreements and thatโs okay.โ
On why itโs important to maintain those working relationships:
โBut as long as we keep our eyes on the prize and see the bigger picture and another part of the big picture is WWE is a massive company and theyโre only getting bigger and bigger now with the merger. So for the rest of us who are outside of that WWE bubble it makes sense to work together and kind of have this union between these companies who that have been around for 50+ years, like New Japan or CMLL and AEW has just been around for five years, but has in five years done some tremendous, tremendous things in the world, you know? So I think it all makes sense. I feel like I do want to speak on this.โ
