While Saraya remains away from in-ring action, she’s still keeping a close eye on AEWโparticularly the standout work being done by AEW Womenโs Champion Toni Storm.
Saraya, who hasnโt appeared on AEW television since October 2024, last picked up a win over Nyla Rose on an August episode of AEW Rampage. Despite her absence, sheโs continued to stay engaged with the product, and in a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, she had high praise for Stormโs evolution as a performer.
โSheโs one of the best promos and characters, I think, of all time,โ Saraya said. โAnd sheโs one of my favorites all together right now. She is making wrestling fun and exciting and I love that. And itโs just funny seeing her from two years agoโฆ when she was scared to pick up a microphone.โ
Saraya highlighted how Stormโs confidence and creativity have taken her to the next level, crediting her full commitment to the character as the key to her success:
โOnce you have a character and something that youโre enjoying in wrestling, you wanna put a hundred percent of your mind, body, and soul into it. And sheโs doing it. And sheโs so humble about it and I love that for her. Sheโs just like, โI hope Iโm doing a good job.โ Iโm like, โBabe, you are smashing it! You are the best thing in wrestling right now.โโ
Toni Storm is set to defend her AEW Womenโs World Championship next month against Megan Bayne at AEW Dynasty.
