WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins recently appeared on Logan Paul’s podcast, Imapulsive, to discuss a variety of topics.
During it, Rollins discussed making amends with Matt Riddle over their previous heat, which WWE introduced into their feud last year. Their heat began when Riddle’s then-wife criticized the WWE main roster’s women for being “straight skinny jiggly fat” and told them to squat. As a reference, she used a photo of Rollins’ wife, Becky Lynch, who is also the mother of his child.
During a Friday Night SmackDown Watch Along special that aired on night one of the Draft, he stated that he had no desire to wrestle Riddle. Rollins explained the situation and stated that they were on good enough terms to work together.
โWhat about him? Well, his wife did [leave him]. I donโt think thereโs such a thing as too far. You remember it, and weโre talking about months later, so thatโs what Iโm talking about the moments, man. Thatโs it. We had a bit of real-life beef if you will. I had a bit of an issue with him. So you kind of got to see that play out on live television a little bit, so we worked it to our favor because now we have a moment thatโs viral and something you remember that affected you, so, win win win I would say. Fine, totally good. Iโm a professional. We can work together, things that happened outside of here, that is what it is. He apologized, and we mended fences, and Iโm all about, like, I donโt write anybody off, Iโm not one of those guys thatโs like โno second chances, you do wrong by me, I hate you forever,โ like Iโm not that stubborn, itโs not that serious unless you do some real nasty things. Everybody makes mistakes, and Iโm big on forgiveness and second chances. Iโll forgive, not always forget and move forward. He was a big man, came forward and apologized, and weโre able to work together, and Iโm happy for that.โ
In the interview, Rollins also stated that Rey Mysterio is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time and that he should be on the Mount Rushmore of wrestling.
โHe is just unreal. Heโs one of one. I mean, that guy, I think he turns 50 soon. And like, what are we talking about? Watch him in the ring. Itโs unbelievable. He hasnโt aged a day. Heโs a freak and up there, it might be a hot take. He might be one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. Thereโs all these, โbut this, but that.โ Heโs not like a great promo, heโs not like a Rock an Austin, a Hogan. Like heโs not on that [level].โ But he is, if you look at the totality of his career and the influence that heโs had for over generations, I say one of the greatest. You could arguably include him on a Mount Rushmore if you want to go that far.โ
