Lilian Garcia Details Painful In-Ring Accident With Charlie Haas

Longtime WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia appeared on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, where she discussed a number of topics, including an incident in which she was knocked off the ring apron by Charlie Haas on a June 2006 episode of RAW.

Garcia said, โ€œThe one with Charlie Haas, that was an accident. Iโ€™m getting out of the ring, heโ€™s coming in to run against the ropes. He doesnโ€™t see me. Iโ€™m holding on, but he comes charging. I go off like a slingshot and land on my left wrist, which I tore my ligament. You hear me yelling and screaming. He doesnโ€™t even know.โ€

On how the fans confused the wrestlers when they were chanting her name:

โ€œHe locks up with John Morrison and the crowd is chanting my name as theyโ€™re taking me out. Heโ€™s locked in with him and, Morrison told me this, heโ€™s like, โ€˜Why in the hell are they chanting Lilianโ€™s name in the middle of our match?โ€™ John is like, โ€˜Dude, you slingshotted her out of the ring.โ€™ Heโ€™s like, โ€˜I did?โ€™ He had no idea. I bandage up. It hurt. Just another day at the job [laughs].โ€
