WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has shared his thoughts on John Cena’s shocking heel turn during the final moments of WWE Elimination Chamber, where Cena aligned with The Rock to attack Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Speaking with Sportskeeda’s Bill Apter, Angle didn’t hold back in his praise:
“It was brilliant. John has been out of the mix for a while, and I know he’s doing his retirement tour… I think that him turning heel was a great idea because now the fans can cheer him on as he eventually makes his way back to babyface.”
Angle sees the move as strategic and long-term, especially with Cena reportedly working his farewell tour throughout 2025:
“When you turn heel and then you turn back baby, you can become even bigger… which is really hard to do, but eventually it’s gonna happen. I think it’s a brilliant idea.”
