Former World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso has his sights set on redemption—and the man standing in his way is none other than GUNTHER.
During WWE’s SummerSlam Kickoff Show, Jey was asked to share his thoughts on the highly anticipated showdown between GUNTHER and Goldberg, set for Saturday Night’s Main Event. While many might expect him to favor the WWE Hall of Famer in what is being billed as Goldberg’s retirement match, Jey made it clear: he’s backing The Ring General.
“I’ve got to go with GUNTHER,” Jey said. “Right now, GUNTHER is the better man, right? We’ve gone back and forth, and I’ve got respect for him.”
The reasoning behind Jey’s support is personal—he wants another shot at the man who took the title from him.
“I want GUNTHER to win. I want him to get through Saturday Night’s Main Event so I can run it back with him one more time. I’ve got to knock that wall down for me to check into my next level.”
Jey also acknowledged that he’s never faced Goldberg inside the ring, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the matchup—but his focus remains on settling unfinished business with the reigning champion.
GUNTHER, who ended Jey Uso’s World Heavyweight Title reign in a brutal and decisive clash earlier this year, has since established himself as one of the most dominant forces in WWE.
