With Liv Morgan sidelined due to a serious shoulder injury, WWE is reportedly preparing to insert rising star Roxanne Perez into the tag team title picture, according to a new report from PWInsider.com.
Morgan suffered a separated shoulder during the June 16, 2025 episode of Monday Night Raw. The injury will require surgery and is expected to keep her out of action for up to six months, forcing WWE to abandon several key creative plans — including a rumored Evolution 2 storyline where Morgan and partner Raquel Rodriguez were slated to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against the returning Bella Twins.
Instead of vacating the championships, WWE is said to be opting for a substitution strategy, with former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez expected to step in and team with Raquel Rodriguez. If finalized, this move would mark Perez’s official main roster debut — and immediately crown her as co-holder of the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
Perez, already viewed as one of WWE’s most promising young talents, is a former NXT Women’s Champion and NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion. She’s currently in the semi-finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament, where she’s scheduled to face Jade Cargill on next week’s Raw.
This wouldn’t be the first time WWE has replaced an injured champion to keep titles active. The company has a precedent of inserting a healthy partner to continue storylines without vacating championships, as seen in prior cases involving both men’s and women’s tag divisions.
For Perez, the opportunity not only accelerates her move to the main roster but places her in a high-profile role alongside powerhouse Raquel Rodriguez — potentially fast-tracking her into one of the top storylines in the women’s division.
