Steph De Lander has nothing but praise for her tag team partner and mentor Matt Cardona, calling him “a wealth of knowledge” who belongs on wrestling’s biggest stage.
Appearing on the Wrestling Life with Ben Veal podcast, De Lander described her run with Cardona as “pivotal and important” to her development since leaving WWE.
“The things that I learned from him… it’s changed the way that I’ve looked at wrestling so much,” De Lander said. “Getting to stand there and watch him do business… that is so invaluable.”
De Lander admitted she felt “very lost” after her WWE release, and it wasn’t until she began working with Cardona that she rediscovered her passion and direction in the business.
“He is such a wealth of knowledge, who shouldn’t still be on the Indies,” she said. “He should be on WrestleMania, and he will be, at some point.”
De Lander emphasized Cardona’s deep industry insight and unmatched professionalism, stating that most independent wrestlers don’t fully take advantage of what he has to offer.
De Lander shared an example of Cardona’s commitment when he appeared as a special guest referee at a recent TNA event.
“He rocks up wearing full special guest referee custom gear. Most people will get a ref shirt and maybe cut the sleeves off, but he paid probably $1,000 to get special ref gear made overnight.”
She credited this attention to detail as part of what makes Cardona one of the most respected names on the circuit.
Together, Steph De Lander and Matt Cardona remain one of the most in-demand acts in professional wrestling. De Lander is currently a featured performer on TNA Wrestling, while Cardona continues to make high-profile appearances across multiple promotions — always in style.
PWMania.com will continue to follow their journey as they push toward the biggest stages in wrestling.
