WWE veteran Johnny Gargano has recently become the center of rampant rumors and speculation, trending on social media as fans questioned his current status with the company. However, he remains part of the WWE roster for now.

The speculation began when Gargano posted a video clip on his Twitter (X) account without any caption. In the clip, he showcased his surprise return to WWE, which took place about four years ago. At the end of the video, Gargano says, “I missed you guys.” The post quickly went viral, garnering over 1.1 million views and leading many fans to overanalyze its significance.

The rumors intensified when another Twitter (X) user claimed that Gargano updated his bio, removing all references to WWE and starting to accept independent bookings. This sparked speculation that he had left the company. However, this is not the case. Gargano’s current bio on his Twitter (X) account is the same one he has used since 2021.

A report from False Finish confirms his bio format and indicates that Gargano is still listed on WWE’s internal roster.

Currently, Gargano is involved in a prolonged storyline in which he is portrayed as being depressed and comatose backstage on WWE SmackDown. His last appearance on WWE television was during the August 7th edition of Friday Night SmackDown. In that segment, he was featured alongside Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk and Sami Zayn. Punk told Zayn that he would grant a title shot to Gargano and Candice LeRae, who was also present, before considering Zayn again. During the segment, Gargano remained lying down, catatonic.

Following this appearance, Gargano announced that his 84-year-old father was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 lung and prostate cancer. This personal situation may explain why Gargano is currently taking a break from television.
