Steven Borden made his return to AEW television during the October 21, 2026, episode of Dynamite, joining Darby Allin and The Young Bucks as the lineup for an upcoming Blood & Guts match was revealed.
The developments followed a tag team main event featuring AEW World Champion Will Ospreay and Adam Copeland against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight.
Fletcher and Knight secured the victory after Fletcher connected with a brainbuster on Copeland to score the pinfall.
However, the action continued after the bell as Ospreay and Copeland found themselves on the receiving end of an attack involving members of the Don Callis Family.
Kazuchika Okada joined the assault and delivered a Rainmaker to Copeland before Jake Doyle, Mark Davis and Wardlow made their way to the ring.
Don Callis also became involved, bringing the AEW World Championship with him as the situation escalated.
Ospreay attempted to fight back against the six men but was eventually stopped by a powerful clothesline from Wardlow.
Callis then handed the AEW World Championship to Fletcher, who struck Ospreay with the title before raising it above his head.
The attack was interrupted when the arena lights suddenly went out.
When the lights returned, Darby Allin appeared on the entrance stage carrying a baseball bat. Allin then handed the weapon to the returning Steven Borden, setting off another confrontation.
Borden and Allin fought Mark Davis and Jake Doyle in the entrance aisle before Nick Jackson emerged carrying a paddle oar.
With the opposition gaining momentum, members of the Don Callis Family retreated from the confrontation.
Borden then took the microphone and announced that he was back for Blood & Guts, confirming his involvement in the upcoming match.
The announced five-on-five contest will feature Will Ospreay, Darby Allin, Steven Borden and The Young Bucks taking on Kyle Fletcher, Kevin Knight, Mark Davis, Jake Doyle and Wardlow.
