AEW Collision Fyter Fest Review – August 26, 2023

Kicking off Night 3 of Fyter Fest with FTW Champion Jack Perry soaks in You suck chants for a bit. He took the mic and said these things are never easy. Perry said that as the greatest FTW Champion in history he felt obligated to say nice words about the FTW Title.

Perry said it was a good title that was misunderstood at times. He said the FTW Title has grown near and dear to his heart because when people look up the history of the FTW Title his face will be next to it. Perry told the production truck to air a montage of all the good times of the FTW Title. A slideshow aired of Jack Perry spending everyday moments with the FTW Title doing things like hanging out at the pool, hanging out in the neighbourhood and even taking a shower.

Perry said it was time to send the FTW title to a better place. Perry grabbed a sledgehammer from under the table. The lights went out. A video aired of Hook doing pullups on a street light. Hook said he’ll be returning to take what’s his. Back at the arena. Hook was already behind Perry. Hook tosses Perry around the in ring funeral set. Hook sets up a table in the corner and gave Perry a t bone suplex through it. Hook laid the FTW Title over the unconscious Perry. Hook took the mic and simply said Wembley… Sunday then leaves.

A recap package aired to recap the Adam Cole & AEW World Champion MJF bromance saga leading to their 2 matches at All In.

Trios Match
International Champion Orange Cassidy, Pentagon Jr & Eddie Kingston vs. The Butcher, The Blade & Kip Sabian

Both teams brawl to the outside before The Butcher & The Blade took down Eddie Kingston with a double team lariat. Pentagon Jr kicks Butcher into the corner and gave The Blade a Death Valley Driver into him.

Sabian pulls Pentagon crotch first into the ring post. Kip Sabian & Orange Cassidy traded rollups before Cassidy took a boot and double team sidewalk slam from The Butcher & The Blade.

Sabian got a two count before both Sabian & Cassidy traded quick counters then Sabian hits Cassidy with an inverted cannonball before The Blade tags in and hits Cassidy with a Lightning Spiral as we go to a break.

After the break The Butcher, The Blade & Sabian cuts the ring in half on Cassidy also making sure to trip Pentagon & Kingston from the apron. Cassidy managed to fend off The Butcher, The Blade & Sabian and tags in Pentagon for the hot tag.

Pentagon hits sling blades before Pentagon hits Sabian with a Canadian Destroyer then The Butcher ask for it and got hit with a Canadian Destroyer. Kingston tags in. Kingston & The Butcher hit each other with lariats before The Butcher calls for a powerbomb but gets hit with an enzuigiri.

Kingston gave Sabian a series of elbows and a corner lariat. Kingston gave Sabian & The Blade Machine Gun Chops in the corner as Sabian was swarmed Kingston hits Sabian with an exploder.

Pentagon hits Sabian with a Michinoku Driver then Cassidy nails Sabian with an Orange Punch during the Michinoku Driver before Kingston hits Sabian with a sliding lariat for the win.

After the match Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta joins Cassidy, Pentagon & Kingston then Best Friends calls out Blackpool Combat Club for breaking Beretta mom’s van. Beretta said that at Stadium Stampede they aren’t going to hug and have fun. Beretta said their team is coming to hurt the Blackpool Combat Club and are doing it for Sue. Kingston teased a promo but Orange Cassidy took the mic from him & before he could speak Blackpool Combat Club & Proud N Powerful appeared on the big screen.

Jon Moxley talked about how Kingston made the Stadium Stampede challenge and gave Blackpool Combat Club a choice of any tag partners. Santana said he’s gone through a year of pain, struggle and trouble. He said that allowed him to see who was real or not. Santana said it all culminates at Wembley Stadium. Kingston exits the ring and marched to the back while Claudio Castagnoli started to speak. Castagnoli talks about how Kingston betrays everyone and might even betray his current team.

Castagnoli said Kingston is a hypocrite that blames everyone else but himself. Ortiz said a wise man once said you reap what you sow. The camera cut to Eddie Kingston looking for Blackpool Combat Club backstage. He was tossing around backstage equipment. Kingston then got up to the camera and said that he’s not surprised that Santana & Ortiz turned to the dark side. He said that’s not going to change the fact that he’s going to gut them and watch them die.

Kingston asked Moxley to get out of his way. He said that Moxley as a beautiful wife and child at home. Kingston said he’s going to bury Wheeler Yuta. Kingston then said that Castagnoli is his sweetheart and he’s going to burn and scar Castagnoli before Kingston kisses the camera and walks off.

We get a sit down interviews with AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR & Young Bucks. The 1st part was Young Bucks talking about how Cody Rhodes came up with the FTR name which stood for Fuck The Revival. Dax Harwood talks about how that annoyed him. Harwood talked about how FTR being the best tag team in the world bothers Young Bucks before both teams went on to sell their upcoming match at Wembley as huge.

Tag Team Match
Dark Order (Alex Reynolds & John Silver) vs. Action Andretti & Darius Martin

John Silver & Action Andretti starts the match off with some chain wrestling then Silver managed to send Andretti into the corner to bring in Alex Reynolds to dominate Andretti.

Andretti managed to get in Darius Martin & Martin & Andretti gave Reynolds alternating strikes then they gave Reynolds a double suplex and gave Silver stereo dropkicks.

Silver managed to blind tag in so he could powerbomb Andretti onto the knees of Reynolds for the two count. Dark Order used quick tags to maintain a numbers advantage over Andretti as we go to a break.

After the break Andretti managed to use a judo roll to tag in Martin & Martin rallied with right hands on Dark Order. Martin hits Dark Order with DDTs at the same time then Martin got a two count off Reynolds.

Andretti tags in and helped knock down Dark Order before Martin hits Reynolds with a brainbuster before Andretti connects with a a Slingshot 450 Splash then goes for the cover.

Silver broke up Andretti’s pin then Silver took down Martin & Andretti with kicks before Andretti came back with a kick on Silver. Reynolds pops up Andretti into Silver’s uppercut.

Martin tried to fend off the Dark Order with right hands and corner splashes then Dark Order caught Martin with alternating strikes. Silver hits Martin with a German suplex which allowed Reynolds to hit him with a Jackknife for the win.

Winners: Dark Order (8:36)

We go backstage where Lexi Nair interviewing Nick Wayne & Darby Allin about his thoughts on Christian Cage daring Wayne not to come to All In. AR Fox cut in and apologized to Nick Wayne. He said it took him 16 years to make it to AEW. Fox said he panicked because he thought everyone lost faith in him after he lost to Orange Cassidy.

He said he lost his father too. Fox held out his hand for a handshake, to say he has Wayne’s back, but Wayne walked past him. Darby accepted the handshake and said he understands that Fox is sorry.

The show cut to a rap video featuring The Acclaimed training with Billy Gunn.

A hype video aired for the Women’s Title Fatal 4 Way match at All In.

Big Bill vs. Vary Morales

Vary Morales tried to start quick out the gate but quickly got drag into a press slam by Big Bill then Bill swung Morales around by the hair. Bill hits Morales with a Stinger Splash. Big Bill nails Morales with a big boot follow by a Chokeslam for the victory.

Winner: Big Bill (1:39)

After the match Ricky Starks mocked Morales by saying that Morales reminds him of a young Ricky Steamboat and he’s about to do the same thing he did to Steamboat. Starks hits Morales a few times with the belt. He said he’s not feeling it now and next week he’ll have a bigger strap.

Starks said for now this will do pig. Starks continued to whip Vary with the belt before the refs ran off to shoo off Starks & Bill. Starks mocks the referees before leaving.

Backstage Lexi Nair interviews Ruby Soho about crossing paths with TBS Champion Kris Statlander. Soho got in the camera and talked about how she challenges Statlander to a match at All Out next week. Soho ends her promo by saying Statlander says she’s more than a woman but she’ll always be less than an Outcast.

Willow Nightingale vs. Robyn Renegade

Robyn Renegade managed to give Willow Nightingale a headlock and noogie before Nightingale powers out. Renegade hits Nightingale a drop toehold into the 2nd buckle.

Nightingale took down Renegade with an elbow and basement crossbody for a near fall before Nightingale hits Robyn with 2 of 3 Amigos then Nightingale recovers and hits Renegade with a fisherman suplex for a two count.

Robyn tried to stall at ringside before Nightingale hits Charlette Renegade a PK from the apron then Robyn trips up Nightingale on the apron as we go to a break.

After the break Nightingale rallied with axe handles strikes and corner moves. Nightingale plants Renegade with a spinebuster for a two count.

Nightingale misses a corner cannonball before Renegade hits Nightingale with a missile dropkick for a near fall. Renegade sends Nightingale to ringside with a Yakuza Kick.

The Renegades teased hitting Nightingale with a double team suplex but Nightingale hits The Renegades with a suplex at the same time. Nightingale hits Renegade with Babe With The Powerbomb for the win.

A hype package aired to hype Miro vs. Powerhouse Hobbs at All Out.

Lexi Nair interviews TBS Champion Kris Statlander about Ruby Soho’s challenge. Kris talked about how she’s sick of The Outcasts. She said they are acting like children. She said if Soho is going to act like a child mama’s going to treat her like one. Statlander said she’s going to put Soho in time out. Statlander said she’s sick of being step on and disrespected. Statlander accepted Soho’s challenge for All Out.

Keith Lee vs. Zicky Dice

Zicky Dice did a hip swivel then Keith Lee led the crowd in a Bask in his glory chant. Dice yelled that he’s Outlandish. Lee came at Dice with a lariat. Dice rallied back with right forearms. Lee came back with a Pounce before he hits Dice with Spirit Bomb for the victory.

Winner: Keith Lee (1:35)

We go to a video where Dralistico & Preston Vance had bags on their heads and were getting beat up by random thugs. They eventually got up and fought off the thugs. A person was shown clapping in the distance before a to be continued graphic aired.

Samoa Joe introduced himself as the King Of Television. Joe talks about how he was told that if he interfered in the upcoming Collision match he would put his All In opportunity in jeopardy. Joe talks about how being at ringside is smart since everyone can keep their eyes on him. Joe was angry at the sneak attack from Punk last week where he was in a golden bodysuit.

Joe said he’s going to be a professional. Joe said he’s a man that’s satisfied got what he needs, and got the match he wanted against CM Punk. Joe said he’ll hand punk the ass whooping he needs.

We get a video package for the Real AEW World Title match at All In.

8 Man Tag Team Match
TNT Champion Luchasaurus, Mogul Embassy (Swerve Strickland & Brian Cage) & Jay White vs. Darby Allin, Sting, CM Punk & Hook

Swerve Strickland & CM Punk squared each other up early on then Punk got a hammerlock on Strickland. Strickland pressured Punk to the corner to break the hold. Strickland managed to wiggle his way to a headscissors. Punk caught Strickland and went for a Go 2 Sleep but Strickland escaped and tags in Jay White.

Punk & White took time soaking in cheers and boos. White demanded that Sting enter the ring when Punk went for the tag White clubbed Punk in the back. White rallied with chops. Punk came back with chops of his own.

White dropkicks the calf of Punk but Punk recovers and came back with a back suplex before Hook tags in and works on White with gut punches. Hook used a Aikido takedown on White.

Darby Allin tags in and continued the wrist manipulation then Punk tags in to continue the wrist manipulation. White rolls away when Sting was about to tag in. Allin & Luchasaurus tags in. Luchasaurus caught Allin off the springboard but Sting blind tags in and saves Allin.

Sting & Allin gave Luchasaurus alternating corner splashes. Punk went for a Stinger Splash but walks right into a choke. Christian trips Punk which allows Luchasaurus to catch Punk with a big boot heading into picture in picture break.

After the break Mogul Embassy, White & Luchasaurus cuts the ring in half on Punk with tags. Punk got a window of opportunity after Strickland misses Swerve Stomp & this allows Hook to get the hot tag. Hook hits Strickland with a Judo toss and gut punches.

Hook hits Strickland with a northern lights suplex before Strickland blindsided Hook after a distraction from White. Hook was tossed into the barricade as the ref starts his 10 count Hook beats the 10 count. Brian Cage tags in and put the boots to Hook as we go to a 2nd break.

After the 2nd break Mogul Embassy, White & Luchasaurus continued to cut the ring in half on Hook before he hits Cage with a t bone suplex for a window of opportunity. Cage recovered and knocks Sting & Allin off the apron then Hook hits Cage with another suplex.

Hook makes the hot tag to Punk & Punk cleans house as he feeds into the mixed reaction by cupping his ear. Punk took down White & Strickland with running moves.

Punk hits White with a body slam then hits White with an elbow drop. White distracted the referee which allowed Strickland to nail Punk with a Flatliner before we get the everyone hit their finisher spot before Cage hits Allin with a release F5. Punk hits Cage with Go 2 Sleep then Punk put Cage in the Coquina Clutch for the submission win.

Winners By Submission: Darby Allin, Sting, CM Punk & Hook (21:07)

After the match Joe asked the announce team if the match is over & they said yes so he storms the ring and works on Punk with a flurry of strikes. Jack Perry ran out to brawl with Hook. Sting & Allin double teams Strickland & we get an overall brawl.

Hook & Perry managed to end up in the crowd. Joe hits Punk in the head with the Real AEW World Title. Allin teased going after Joe but Joe backs down up the ramp to close out Night 3.
