AEW Fyter Fest Night 2 Review – August 25, 2023

International Title Match
Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Aaron Solo

Orange Cassidy looks to put his hands in his pocket but Aaron Solo stops him with a kick to his midsection before they go back & forth locking one another in submission holds. Cassidy then delivers an arm drag that sends Solo crashing to the outside and follows him.

Cassidy hits a back elbow and looks to take another shot but Harley Cameron gets in between them before he can. Cassidy delivers his signature kicks to her then delivers a tope suicida to Solo and gets him back in the ring.

He ascends to the top rope but Cameron pulls him down and Solo delivers a suplex as we go to a break.

After the break Solo delivers a forearm in the corner before Cassidy sends him crashing into the top turnbuckles face first and ascends to the top. He delivers a crossbody and Stun Dog Millionaire then follows it up with a tornado DDT and sets up for Orange Punch.

Cameron distracts Cassidy with a song, allowing Solo to deliver a Corkscrew Kick and plant him shoulder first. He ascends to the top rope and delivers a diving double stomp.

Cameron looks to hit Cassidy with her boot but the referee catches her. Solo then grabs the boot and hits Cassidy with it before pinning him but Cassidy kicks out and delivers Orange Punch then follows it up with Beach Break for the win.

Winner & Still International Champion: Orange Cassidy (9:15) (STILL CHAMPION!!!!)

We then head over to a video of Jim Ross interviewing with QT Marshall. Ross asks Marshall what’s next and Marshall says it’s time for him to get the respect he’s earned. He says he’s not the one aligning himself with people like Cody Rhodes & Powerhouse Hobbs because they’re the ones aligning themselves with him. He says he’s never complained about that assumption because he’s a professional. He says he was taught to be a good soldier so he can get opportunities then questions why people assume he gets chances as a result of his relationship with Tony Khan when he had to go to Mexico for a chance at championship gold. He complains about not having his own action figure then says he will defend his AAA Latin American Title with honor & prestige.

Before the match begins QT Marshall grabs a microphone and mocks Gravity before he tells him that he should just leave but Gravity slaps him.

AAA Latin American Title Match
QT Marshall (c) vs. Gravity

Gravity delivers an arm drag off the ropes then lands a 2nd one then follows it up with a dropkick that sends him crashing out of the ring. Gravity goes flying over the top and levels him then gets him back in the ring and ascends to the top rope.

Marshall catches Gravity with a right hand mid air and the action spills back out of the ring then Gravity lands a Tijeras and looks to go flying off the apron but Marshall catches him and powerbombs him onto the apron as we go to a break.

After the break Gravity delivers a pair of chops to Marshall. Marshall sends him crashing to the mat with a right hand but Gravity responds with a Canadian Destroyer.

He follows it up with a clothesline in the corner and looks for a crossbody off the ropes but Marshall catches him with a backbreaker and plants him then looks to plant Gravity but Gravity counters into a Tijeras. He follows it up with a series of kicks and a German suplex.

Marshall sits Gravity on the top rope and looks for Diamond Cutter but Gravity fights him off and escapes then delivers a chop and an uppercut. He climbs up to the middle rope and gets Marshall up on his shoulders then delivers a modified fallaway slam. Marshall fires back with a Diamond Cutter follow by Dirtsheet Driver for the win.

Winner & Still AAA Latin American Champion: QT Marshall (8:49) (STILL CHAMPION!!!!)

We then head over to a video from Dark Order & they say they are looking to rebuild with other angry and selfish people like them.

Non Title Match
TNT Champion Luchasaurus vs. Ren Jones

Ren Jones delivers a right hand then follows it up with an uppercut but Luchasaurus catches him with a kick and plants him with a chokeslam then delivers a lariat to the back of his head for the win.

Winner: TNT Champion Luchasaurus (1:09)

Tag Team Match
Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida & Britt Baker vs. The Outcasts (Saraya & Toni Storm)

The Outcasts waste no time going after Hikaru Shida & Britt Baker. Shida & Toni Storm brawl on the outside as Baker delivers a Sling Blade to Saraya. She runs the ropes but Ruby Soho grabs her ankle from the outside & that opens the door for Saraya to send her into the top turnbuckle face first and tag in Storm.

Storm fires off stomps and delivers a pair of chops then sends her into the top turnbuckle face first and follows it up with an uppercut. She then delivers a suplex and another chop then jams her knee into the back of her neck.

Saraya fires off knees from the apron as Storm distracts the referee, and Storm delivers a hip attack that sends her crashing to the outside. Soho fires off right hands and stomps but TBS Champion Kris Statlander appears out of nowhere and drags Soho to the back on her shoulders as we go to a break.

After the break The Outcasts take turns holding up the Women’s Title. Saraya then wears down Baker on the outside and dumps her back in the ring. Storm tags in and goes back & forth with Baker as they land several forearms. Baker manages to deliver a neckbreaker then tags in Shida.

Shida fires off strikes on Storm then delivers a running knee and gets her up on her shoulders before she sends Storm crashing into the mat and suplexes an interfering Saraya on top of her.

Storm delivers a chop before Shida catches her with an enziguri then Storm catches Baker with a German suplex and Saraya tags in. She chucks Baker across the ring before Baker officially tags in The Outcasts then level her with a double powerbomb.

Saraya & Baker begin brawling as Shida & Storm do the same then Baker levels Saraya with a forearm and Shida plants her. Baker then plants her with a neckbreaker and goes for a pin but Storm breaks the fall. Baker then calls for Lockjaw but Saraya grabs the referee’s leg.

Storm sprays Shida in the face with the spray paint and a blinded Shida accidentally hits Baker with a forearm & this opens the door for Saraya to hit Baker with Night Cap for the win.

Winners: The Outcasts (11:55)

After the match Saraya then grabs the Women’s Title but Storm looks to grab it from her then they start arguing about who gets to hold the Women’s Title but decide to hold it up together.
