WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles recently appeared on The AJ Styles Show, where he discussed a variety of topics, including his classes at the WWE Performance Center.

Styles said, “My class goes from 11 to 1. Okay. And I probably spend about 45 minutes to an hour — and this is a lot — it’s cardio. We don’t F about. Then it’s time to get cardio in, these guys bust their tail. They’re not going to blow up in a match; I promise you that. They are freaking machines.”

On the importance of cardio in a match:

“That’s just the way it needs to be right now. The one thing about wrestling is — when you get tired, you are in risk of hurting yourself or the guy you’re in the ring with. So, we got to make sure that doesn’t happen. I think that’s an important part of being a pro wrestler is that you got to have a gas tank. Because it takes so much energy to do all these things that need to be done to perfection. Selling can blow you up. I know many times as a heel, I was yelling at people in the stands and blew myself up, yelling. But like I’ve said this before, I’m not necessarily worried about you getting blown up. I’m worried about how fast you recover from getting blown up. That to me is most — when you can get your win back within seconds, perfect. We’re at where we need you to be. But it is it is no joke, man. It is no joke.”
