Backstage Details On Alexa Bliss’ WWE Royal Rumble Return

Alexa Bliss made her long-awaited return to WWE during the 2025 Royal Rumble, but the backstage chaos leading up to it might be even more shocking than the moment itself.

Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, Bliss revealed that her surprise appearance was finalized mere hours before the event.

“I got the call at like, midnight the night before,” Bliss said. “It wasn’t fully decided until like 4am, and I get a call at five. They’re like, ‘Alright, we need you on a plane by 10am.’”

The rushed timeline forced Bliss into a whirlwind of travel and preparation. “I’m in my house at 3am… trying not to wake up the baby, because my gear is in, like, next to her closet,” she recalled. “And I’m like, looking through old gear, being like, ‘Alright, what could still fit me?’”

WWE kept her return under lock and key. “No one knew I was there, not even… the girls didn’t know I was there until I was in gorilla. No one. No one knew.”

After flying into a different city and being discreetly driven to the venue, Bliss arrived just two hours before the show, running on fumes and adrenaline. She admitted to being “deliriously tired,” but it was a conversation with Stephanie McMahon that helped center her right before her entrance.

“That was one of those ones where I just kind of actually took in the moment,” Bliss said. “A lot of times when I’m doing my entrance, I’m still thinking about what’s coming next… And I was like, ‘Wow, this is pretty cool.’”

Since her return, Bliss has quickly re-established herself as a top name on Friday Night SmackDown. She and Charlotte Flair are currently slated to compete in a Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Championship Match at the upcoming Evolution Premium Live Event.
