Backstage News On Who Will Replace CM Punk As Top Star On AEW Collision

Don’t expect to see Bryan Danielson in the ring too often on Wednesday or Friday night’s.

Why?

“Saturday night’s alright for fightin’!”

Following the AEW release of CM Punk, it looks like the AEW Saturday night prime time Collision program is short on top-tier talent that isn’t overly watered down by appearances on Dynamite and Rampage every week.

Until now.

Dave Meltzer noted on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio at F4WOnline.com that “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson is expected to wrestle mostly on Collision going forward.

“Danielson is gonna be wrestling mostly on Saturday’s,” Meltzer began when talking about Danielson’s early in-ring return in the Strap Match against Ricky Starks at AEW ALL IN 2023 on Sunday night. “So he can hang out during the week with his kids.”

“So, I guess he’s gonna be the new star of Collision. Until the old star comes back, whoever that is [laughs].”
