Last week’s episode of WWE NXT featured a match between Jordynne Grace and Giulia to determine the #1 contender for the WWE NXT Women’s Championship. During the match, Giulia suffered two serious bumps, landing on her head on both occasions. This resulted in some negative reactions online, with some fans directing their frustration at Grace.
According to a report from Fightful Select, there were “audible” reactions backstage when these incidents occurred, and NXT has expressed a desire not to “normalize” such dangerous bumps. The report indicated that the first bump was caused by a miscommunication, as Giulia tucked her chin mistakenly, which was likened to the common error some wrestlers make when they forget not to tuck their chin during a Styles Clash. The second bump, which happened during Grace’s Juggernaut Driver finishing move, was simply described as a “rough landing.”
