QT, AAA Latin American Champion Marshall has extended his contract with AEW, where he also serves as Vice President of Show & Creative Coordination.
Marshall was close to signing a new contract, as reported in late August, after negotiating with the company. It was noted at the time that a brief contract extension had been discussed and was likely to be signed.
In an update, Fightful Select reports that Marshall’s new contract will keep him with AEW through 2023. This comes after a brief period of working without a contract.
Marshall was noted to have continued working for AEW after taking a brief vacation, but his AEW talent contract had expired and he was working without one. Marshall was in the process of negotiating a contract extension that would have kept him on as a performer as well as his off-camera VP duties.
Marshall’s VP role entails many responsibilities behind the scenes, and it appears that he has never had a separate contract for those responsibilities.
Marshall produced what is thought to be Jade Cargill’s final AEW match, a rematch against AEW TBS Champion Kris Statlander on tonight’s Rampage episode.
Marshall joined AEW in the summer of 2019 as an Associate Producer and performer. In August 2022, he was promoted to his current position of Vice President of Show & Creative Coordination. Marshall was extremely helpful to AEW in a variety of ways during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, and he is regarded as an important asset to AEW due to his work both behind the scenes and on camera. He currently leads the QTV faction alongside Johnny TV, Powerhouse Hobbs, Aaron Solo, and Harley Cameron, and he and Cody Rhodes run The Nightmare Factory wrestling school in Georgia. Marshall is credited with developing several AEW talent.
Marshall made his AAA debut on July 15 at Triplemania XXXI: Tijuana, defeating Penta El Zero Miedo in an Ambulance Match. He then returned on August 12 at Triplemania XXXI: Mexico City to win the vacant AAA Latin American Title with a Fatal 4 Way victory over Penta, Dralstico, and Texano Jr. In between those shows, he worked one AEW match, as QTV lost to current AEW World Trios Champions The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn on the July 21 Rampage episode, then defended his AAA title against Gravity on the August 21 Fyter Fest Rampage show. Marshall then traveled to the United Kingdom to defend his AAA title against Chuck Mambo at PROGRESS Wrestling’s Chapter 154 on August 26, before working the September 9 ROH TV tapings in a dark match title defense against Metalik. Marshall did not wrestle at All In or All Out, but he did produce the AEW World Trios Titles match at All In. The producers of All Out were never confirmed.
