WWE star Carlito made a surprise appearance on this past Tuesday night’s NXT New Year’s Evil, when he teamed up with Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde of the LWO to take on the No Quarter Catch Crew’s Drew Gulak, Damon Kemp and Myles Borne in a 6-Man Tag Team Match.
Carlito, who replaced reigning WWE NXT North American Champion Dragon Lee in the matchup due to some visa issues, which has since been resolved, took part in a post-show digital exclusive interview with the company immediately following the show to talk about a number of topics including how everyone thought the LWO was down and out at the end of 2023, but they are back with some new energy in 2024.
Carlito said, “They thought the LWO was down and out at the end of 2023.” “They thought we were finished.”
“But we’re back at NXT, new year, new energy, and we got the win.”
