During a recent appearance on ESPN’s First Take, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes addressed the headline-making attack that closed out the 2025 Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event—an ambush that saw John Cena turn heel and align with The Rock, while rapper Travis Scott delivered a brutal slap to Rhodes that may have caused real injury.

“I had made the mistake, a lot of people texted me after concerned because my eardrum burst and the next day I had the full Tommy Boy spot on my face,” Cody explained. “I told everybody, ‘He didn’t get me at all.’ Then, I realized there was a nice fan cam shot of how difficult it is.”

Rhodes didn’t hold back on his opinion of Scott’s performance in the moment. “Travis Scott, for as talented as he is—and he’s an incredibly talented guy. I even bought his kicks, I got a pair for Liberty as well—Travis Scott uh, kinda sucks. He kind of sucks.”

With WWE confirming that Scott will appear at WrestleMania 41, Rhodes added a direct warning, referencing a common wrestling tradition: “I’ll be looking for what we call in the wrestling business a little bit of a receipt. Payback.”

Cody Rhodes is set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania Night Two at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Now, fans may also be keeping a close eye on any interaction between Rhodes and the hip-hop star who became unexpectedly physical in WWE’s world.
