As previously reported by PWMania.com, TKO disclosed in its Q2 2026 earnings report that the WWE portion of the overall settlement in the lawsuit amounts to $105 million. However, the plaintiffs in the lawsuit disagree with this figure.
According to POST Wrestling, the settlement has not yet been finalized. A series of letters filed by the plaintiffs’ attorneys on Thursday state that the total settlement amount is actually $147.5 million. One letter also noted that TKO’s “partial disclosures” and delays in finalizing the settlement have led the press to present “an incomplete picture of the full settlement.”
The report further noted that the delay stems from a disagreement between two sets of defendants. One set includes Vince McMahon, while the other includes Nick Khan, Triple H, George Barrios, and Michelle Wilson. The latter group claims there are disagreements over insurance and indemnification, which will affect who bears the majority of the settlement cost. TKO has indicated that WWE expects $75 million of its contribution to be covered by insurance. The WWE-backed defendants characterize the disagreement as “narrow.”
An attorney for the plaintiffs submitted a letter to the judge on July 30, describing the process as “unnecessarily arduous” and asserting that McMahon’s attorneys indicated he was ready to sign off on the deal, while the other side is refusing to authorize the filing.
On August 6, an attorney representing the WWE side submitted a letter addressing the matter, which reads:
“The only obstacle to [finalizing the settlement agreement] is a narrow disagreement between Defendants [Khan, Levesque, Barrios, and Wilson] and Mr. McMahon over the scope of releases tied to certain indemnification and contribution obligations between themselves and their insurance carriers.”
An attorney for McMahon filed a letter that day, confirming his agreement to the outlined settlement. Representatives for McMahon did not immediately respond to requests for comment, nor did media representatives for WWE.
