Pro wrestling legend and top AEW/ROH star Dustin Rhodes spoke with WFFA 8 on several topics, including his desire to win a World Title before he retires.
Rhodes said, โThereโs one thing that every wrestler, if they donโt want this when they get into the business, they donโt belong on the business and thatโs to become world heavyweight champion. That is the one thing that is missing. Iโve won many titles from both companies and all kinds of companies across the world, but winning the world heavyweight title puts a feather in your cap. Iโm 55. Is it too late? I donโt think so. I have two belts right now, Dustin two belts, here I am, the ROH Tag Team Titles and the world six man tag team titles. It happened this year at 55 and Iโm just like, wow. The sky is the limit. When you get in the wrestling industry, that should be your number one goal. Of course youโre gonna make a lot of money with that, youโre gonna make a lot of money period anyways getting into the wrestling industry and itโs great. You take care of your family, you donโt have to worry about things man, but itโs an ever evolving business and you gotta be able to change on the fly and continue your rise of wherever youโre going and have that end goal. I donโt see an end in sight for me just quite yet. Sting was a big inspiration for that because I was a huge fan of his when he was there, when I met him the first time, I started painting my face because of Sting. To watch him go until he was 60 or 62 years old was amazing and it was very inspirational. It gives me some hope that I can still go a little bit longer.โ
