Speculation about who might make a surprise return to the company grows as the WWE Royal Rumble approaches on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in Tampa, Florida.
Bayley, Nia Jax, Becky Lynch, and Bianca Belair have been confirmed for the Women’s Bout, while Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, and GUNTHER have been confirmed for the Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
Other notable matches on the card include Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight vs. AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton and WWE United States Champion Logan Paul vs. Kevin Owens.
WWE enjoys incorporating surprises into the Rumble matches, whether it’s having NXT stars make their main roster debuts by competing in the match or bringing back former stars and Hall of Famers.
Michelle McCool was asked about this on Twitter, but she stated that she has yet to be asked. WWE prefers to keep surprises a secret, so they may not ask her until the show is closer.
A perfect example is McCool’s WWE Royal Rumble appearance last year, which was decided just days before the event after fans messaged WWE and Triple H.
McCool defeated Tamina and lasted 13 minutes before being removed by Rhea Ripley, the eventual 30-Woman Royal Rumble winner. Rhea went on to dethrone Charlotte Flair to become the current Women’s World Champion.
Haven’t been asked??♀️ https://t.co/YLtYn9gKAq
