Gail Kim Spotted Backstage At WWE NXT Tapings Amid WWE Interest

A major name in women’s wrestling history may be on the verge of returning to WWE.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, TNA Hall of Famer Gail Kim has been backstage at multiple recent WWE NXT tapings and has spent time at the WWE Performance Center. While her appearances have generated speculation, sources within WWE confirmed that Kim is not officially signed “as of this moment.”

Kim’s presence comes just months after she was let go from her longtime producer role in TNA Wrestling, where she helped shape the Knockouts Division for nearly a decade. Her departure made her one of the most high-profile free agents in the industry, and both WWE and AEW were said to have immediate interest.

WWE sources noted they’ve been interested in bringing Kim into the fold since she became available earlier this year, but have kept any ongoing discussions “very quiet.” Her backstage visits may be part of early conversations or simply an informal check-in as both sides explore possibilities.

Kim previously worked for WWE during the mid-2000s and again from 2008 to 2011. She famously made history in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, becoming one of the most decorated women’s champions in the company’s history and a trailblazer for women’s wrestling.

As of now, her role with WWE remains unofficial, but her recent appearances at NXT events and the Performance Center have fueled speculation of a potential return.
