Impact Wrestling Creative Writer Leaves Impact For AEW

Jimmy Jacobs, a veteran pro wrestler and creative writer, is now an AEW Producer.

Jacobs was backstage for Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite in Washington, DC, as PWMania.com previously reported. He was rumored to be assisting with AEW creative, but it was unclear what his role would be given that he has been on the Impact Wrestling creative team since 2017.

F4Wonline.com has reported that Jacobs has left Impact to join AEW. He will be employed as a producer.

Jacobs joined Impact in November 2017 and was an important member of their creative team. He also worked as a creative writer for WWE from March 2015 to October 2017, but was fired for taking photos with members of The Bullet Club, who did a “invasion” angle outside of a WWE RAW event for their YouTube show Being The Elite. Jacobs wrestled for a long time, beginning in 1999. Jacobs, a former tag team partner of current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, has five ROH World Tag Team Championships and one PWG World Tag Team Championship. Earlier this year, he was inducted into the Indie Hall of Fame.

As they prepare to launch AEW Collision on TNT this Saturday, AEW has been expanding their creative team in recent months. Bryan Danielson has been assisting with AEW creative and will be working on the Collision storylines. Will Washington, the AEW Wrestling Administration Coordinator who was hired in early May, is also contributing creatively.
