Could Vince McMahon be plotting a return to the wrestling world? According to Matt Hardy, the possibility shouldn’t be dismissed.
During a recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the veteran performer weighed in on the growing speculation that McMahon may be looking to re-enter the world of wrestling promotion following his controversial WWE exit. Hardy suggested there might be “some mad fact” to the reports circulating about McMahon’s potential comeback.
“Wrestling is in his blood,” Hardy said. “All his life, Vince has known entertainment, he’s known pro wrestling. He always wanted to be a promoter—and he became the most successful one in the history of the business.”
Hardy acknowledged McMahon’s complicated legacy, pointing out that while much of his current situation is “of his own doing,” he can still understand why McMahon may want to reclaim a leadership role in the industry.
“I think he’s probably frustrated by a lot of what’s happened. But it wouldn’t surprise me if he wants back in the captain’s chair—back in the spotlight, running or promoting a show. Is it possible or feasible? I think it’s something he’d definitely try to do. Whether it materializes is another story, but I do believe he still has that desire deep down.”
When asked how he personally felt about the idea of a McMahon return, Hardy was clear that any such move would be contingent on one major factor—McMahon’s ongoing legal troubles.
“What happens, happens,” Hardy said. “But first and foremost, he has to deal with the legal issues he’s facing. That’s going to be the key—however that plays out will make all the difference.”
Vince McMahon stepped down from WWE amidst a series of legal challenges, including federal investigations and a high-profile lawsuit. While no formal plans for a new venture have been confirmed, Hardy’s comments add fuel to the growing speculation surrounding McMahon’s future in the industry.
