Nixon Newell Reveals Car Crash After WWE Release

Former WWE Superstar Nixon Newell (fka Tegan Nox) is opening up about her journey since being released by WWE and the challenges she’s faced behind the scenes. Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Newell revealed that a serious car accident shortly after her WWE departure significantly affected her ability to accept bookings and slowed her return to the ring.

Newell clarified that her recent comment about struggling to get bookings wasn’t due to lack of demand, but rather the aftermath of the accident and the demands of her personal life.

“Within days of being released, I was in a massive car wreck. So I’d been sorting that out… life has just been so crazy that unfortunately, wrestling did take a backstep,” she shared. “But when I released a promo the other day on Instagram, the feedback and the attraction that it got made me understand and prove to myself that I was right… I’d definitely been laxing.”

Now determined to get her momentum back, Newell says she’s taking control of her career by promoting herself more actively.

“I’m taking the initiative of doing promos, doing pictures… get the name Nixon Newell back in people’s minds because that’s where I wanna be. I see myself doing nothing but wrestling my entire life,” she said. “This is gonna be my 14th year in wrestling this year.”

On the possibility of returning to WWE, Newell didn’t shut the door but made it clear that she’s focused on wrestling for companies that want her now.

“Possibly, the door I hope is always open (for a WWE return), but right now, I wanna wrestle everywhere and anywhere. Yes, WWE is cool… but there’s so many incredible companies out there right now—like TNA, AEW, MLW, GCW.”

Newell’s comeback story is gaining traction, with her bookings reportedly picking up since releasing her emotional promo. While she’s still working toward the schedule she desires, her resolve is strong, and her passion for wrestling remains at the forefront.
