WWE star Paige has become the latest wrestler to speak out against autograph scalpers approaching talent at airports, revealing that one person went as far as meeting her directly at the gate of a connecting flight with around 30 photos to sign.
The practice of waiting for wrestlers at airports has generated considerable criticism from performers in recent years, particularly when those seeking autographs are believed to be obtaining signatures for resale rather than as fans hoping for a personal interaction.
The Undertaker addressed the issue in 2024, criticizing “marks” who attempt to take advantage of wrestlers while traveling.
Paige has now shared her own experience after encountering someone who apparently went to considerable lengths to reach her during a recent journey.
Writing on Twitter/X, Paige said she is generally relaxed about autograph requests but felt this particular encounter crossed a line. “Airport scalpers are morphing.. Had someone waiting for me as I was getting off the plane at the gate of my connecting flight with like 30 pictures.. I’m easy going with this stuff but pulling up to my gate is fucking weirdo behavior. Don’t do that.”

The circumstances were particularly unusual because Paige was not leaving the airport at that location. She was catching a connecting flight, meaning she would never have reached the baggage claim or other publicly accessible areas where people might typically wait for arriving passengers.
Paige subsequently confirmed that she believes the individual had purchased a ticket specifically to gain access to the secure area of the airport and meet her at the gate.

While Paige emphasized that she is normally accommodating in these situations, meeting her directly at the gate of a connecting flight was a step too far. Her message to anyone considering doing something similar was straightforward: “Don’t do that.”
