Photo: Asuka Reunites With Damage CTRL

WWE star Asuka has sparked speculation of a potential Damage CTRL reunion after sharing a photo with her stablemates, IYO SKY and Kairi Sane, ahead of the May 16th edition of WWE SmackDown. The post, made via Instagram, marks one of Asuka’s first teases of an on-screen return since being sidelined with a knee injury in May 2024.

The image immediately ignited buzz across social media, with fans excited at the possibility of the faction reforming—particularly with Dakota Kai, a founding member of Damage CTRL, recently released from WWE.

Kairi Sane, who has also been absent from WWE TV since December 2024, appeared in the post alongside SKY, who currently holds the WWE Women’s World Championship. Asuka’s timing—combined with WWE’s ongoing focus on rebuilding its women’s division—has led many to believe that the trio may reunite on SmackDown imminently.

Although Asuka is still technically recovering from knee surgery, her rehabilitation has reportedly gone well. According to previous reports, WWE had considered her for a WrestleMania 41 appearance and held creative discussions for her eventual return, suggesting the company views her comeback as part of a long-term storyline arc.
