One former WWE wrestler looks prepared to return to the ring and begin the next phase of his career.
Damon Kemp, real name Bobby Steveson, is the brother of Gable Steveson and signed with WWE in August 2021. He was originally a member of Diamond Mine, but later left the group and joined the No Quarter Catch Crew.
As previously reported by Fightful, Kemp was considered good in the ring for his level of experience, and no one had any negative comments about him, but the company did not renew his contract. WWE has a large number of athletes under NXT contracts and is adding new ones on a regular basis, forcing the company to make difficult decisions about who to keep.
His brother Gable was released earlier this year after reports surfaced that he “wasn’t cutting it” as a professional wrestler. Kemp’s noncompete clause expired last month.
Kemp, as seen below, is teasing an in-ring return by sharing a photo of his ring gear on X.
