Hayashi Masahiro, who has been creating gear for WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio for many years, recently shared a photo on his Instagram account featuring Mysterio in his gear from Friday’s AA TripleManía 34 Night One event. Masahiro noted that Mysterio’s gear for AAA TripleManía 34 was a recreation of his iconic costume from WCW Halloween Havoc 1997.
Masahiro wrote, “I created this design inspired by The Phantom.
when @619iamlucha wrestled Eddie Guerrero at WCW Halloween Havoc 29 years ago.
Back then, I never imagined this design would remain in everyone’s memories for so long.
Tonight, I recreated new one for AAA’s biggest event, Triplemanía 34 in Las Vegas MGM Grand Arena.
He continues to fight,both in our memories and in reality.
Thank you for so many dreams.”
Mysterio competed against Omos in the main event of Friday’s show in Las Vegas, ultimately losing to the giant and suffering a brutal post-match attack.
