Not everyone makes the correct first impression of Bill Goldberg when meeting the pro wrestling legend.

Rob Van Dam is no exception.

RVD admitted on his “1 Of A Kind” podcast this week that he made the wrong first impression of the fellow WWE Hall of Fame legend the first time he met him.

โ€œI remember I was in WWE. Bill Goldberg was coming in this day and I never met him, but I had this image of him in mind that I wasnโ€™t gonna like him because he had said something that I took personal, which was stupid about ECW, something about that nobody in ECW is talented,” Van Dam said. “Something like that or I thought that he said that, whatever. That was the limited info I had. I had this image in my mind of him.”

Van Dam continued, “And then he was in catering and he was putting food on his plate. And I was near there and he came up to me and extended his hand and he said, โ€˜Hey, Rob Van Dam, Iโ€™m Bill Goldberg. Man. Iโ€™m a big fan of yours. I really appreciate your work.โ€™ And all of a sudden I was like, โ€˜My image was way off. This dudeโ€™s really cool.โ€™ And he was like, โ€˜Youโ€™re so talented.โ€™ And I was like, โ€˜Dude, an image is just an image. Itโ€™s not a real person. Itโ€™s not three-dimensional. Itโ€™s just an image.”

“The Whole F’N Show” also offered high praise for Chris Jericho while talking about the wizard from AEW on his new podcast.

โ€œItโ€™s awesome what Jerichoโ€™s been doing,” he said. “And not just him, but you know heโ€™s my age and had career about as long as mine. And itโ€™s cool to see him still in there, like on top doing it his way. Iโ€™m a big proponent of doing it your own way and thatโ€™s what the boys did with AEW.”
