Sami Zayn Written Out Of WWE TV Storylines After He Requests Time Off

One of WWE’s top Superstars will be on the sidelines in the near future.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter at F4WOnline.com that Sami Zayn will be taking some time off from WWE soon.

According to the report, Zayn requested and was granted time off from the company, although it is unclear when the hiatus will officially begin.

WWE began the storyline that will explain Zayn’s absence on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw at the MVP Arena in Albany, New York, with Drew McIntyre “injuring” Zayn’s knee during their opening match on the show, and attacking him again in a backstage segment later in the show where he again focused his attack on Zayn’s knee.

Sami Zayn is not scheduled to work the upcoming WWE Live Holiday Tour show in Laval, Quebec, Canada on December 28, a show in a market that would generally be built around the Montreal native.
