WWE star Shotzi recently opened up about one of the most unforgettableโand unconventionalโmoments of her career: competing in the ring wearing her own wedding dress just hours after tying the knot.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast, Shotzi revealed that the entire experience was unplanned but turned into her favorite WWE memory to date.
โThat is something Iโm so grateful WWE let me do,โ Shotzi shared. โI got married in Vegas, and it was completely unplanned. We had been engaged for a few months and were in the middle of planning this big wedding. But then I got booked for a live event in Vegas right after the holidays, and I turned to my husband and said, โWhat if we just eloped in Vegas?โ He was like, โYes! Absolutelyโletโs do that.โโ
What started as a spontaneous elopement turned into a once-in-a-lifetime wrestling moment when Shotzi pitched the idea of working the live show in her wedding dressโand got full support from WWE executive Road Dogg.
โAfter we decided to elope, I messaged Road Dogg. I was like, โHey, Iโm getting married before the Vegas show. Can I wrestle in my wedding dress? Can we make it part of the night?โ He was totally on board. Road Dogg is always down for the fun stuff.โ
Shotzi went on to say that the entire experienceโgetting married and then performing in front of a live WWE crowd while still in her bridal gearโwas surreal and unforgettable.
โIt was so stress-free and so much fun. Thatโs probably my favorite WWE memory.โ
Known for her fearless in-ring style and eccentric personality, Shotzi has had her share of standout moments, but this one holds a special place in her heartโblending her real-life love story with her love for performing.
