The June 27th, 2025 edition of WWE SmackDown took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and aired live for international Netflix users. Here are the results from the show:
Commentary Team: Michael Cole and Wade Barrett were on commentary for the evening.
Cody Rhodes opened the show but was quickly interrupted by Randy Orton. Fans passionately sang along to both stars’ theme songs as the two exchanged tense words. Cody reminded Orton, “You won’t be King of the Ring—because I will,” before dropping the mic.
During this segment, Netflix’s live stream abruptly cut out for over 25 minutes, displaying a “Pardon the delay” message. Orton entertained the live crowd with “yeet” chants until the broadcast resumed, with Cole and Barrett issuing apologies on-air.
Jimmy Uso vs. JC Mateo
With the feed restored, Jimmy Uso battled JC Mateo, who was backed by Solo Sikoa. Before the bell, Solo told JC they would give Jimmy one last chance to rejoin the family.
Mid-match, Solo prevented Jimmy from diving onto JC, leading to JC scoring the upset win with a Tour of the Islands powerslam.
Post-Match: Jimmy slapped Solo instead of hugging him, prompting a beatdown by Solo and JC—until Jacob Fatu made a surprise save. Jacob hit JC with a top-rope moonsault. Jimmy then nailed Solo with a superkick as tensions exploded within the Bloodline.
DIY tried to rally other tag teams to stand up to the Wyatt Sicks. SmackDown GM Nick Aldis later ordered Andrade to find a tag team partner to face DIY later in the night.
WWE Women’s United States Championship
Giulia def. Zelina Vega (c) – Title Change
Zelina Vega entered in a King Cobra-inspired outfit to defend against Giulia. Early on, Zelina sold a knee injury. Giulia took control with a neckbreaker on the floor and a missile dropkick off the top rope.
Zelina fought back with a Meteora into the steel steps and a Code Red, but Giulia survived. After countering a moonsault, Giulia fired off a flurry of knee strikes and landed the Northern Lights Bomb to score the pinfall and win the title.
Post-Match: Pyro lit up the Riyadh sky as Giulia celebrated her championship victory.
Backstage, Charlotte Flair told Alexa Bliss she didn’t need friends. Alexa suggested they could at least be “allies of convenience.” Charlotte didn’t respond… but she didn’t walk away, either.
Jade Cargill, Asuka & Naomi Face Off
Wade Barrett hosted an in-ring confrontation between Jade Cargill and Asuka. Jade declared she wasn’t just after the crown—she wanted “the whole damn throne.” Asuka admitted Jade was powerful, but said strength alone won’t win.
Naomi interrupted, warning Jade that with the Money in the Bank briefcase, she could ruin Jade’s big night. The crowd erupted with “Shut the f*ck up” chants at Naomi. A brawl broke out, with Asuka standing tall.
Backstage, Aleister Black approached Nick Aldis but was interrupted by R-Truth, who demanded another match with John Cena. Aldis looked bewildered as Truth walked off.
Andrade & Rey Fenix def. DIY
Andrade teamed with Rey Fenix to face DIY. Early action saw stereo dives from the high-flying duo. DIY isolated Fenix and worked over his leg, preventing a tag.
Eventually, Andrade made the hot tag and chaos ensued. After DIY hit their double-team combo, Fenix kicked out. Ciampa exposed his knee but missed a strike, leading to Fenix hitting the Black Fire Driver. Andrade followed up with The Message to pin Ciampa.
A video hyping John Cena vs. CM Punk aired.
R-Truth came to the ring to call out Cena again—but instead, Aleister Black appeared and dropped Truth with a Black Mass.
Backstage, Damian Priest confronted Black, who said Truth’s debt was paid. Carmelo Hayes interrupted, warning Priest not to cross Black again.
WWE Tag Team Championship
The Street Profits (c) vs. The Wyatt Sicks – No Contest
The Street Profits defended the titles against Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis of the Wyatt Sicks. B-Fab accompanied the champions and declared her loyalty.
Chaos broke out when Los Garza and DIY interfered, dragging Lumis and Dawkins out of the ring. All tag teams brawled at ringside, leading to a no contest.
Post-Match: Erick Rowan entered but was overwhelmed by MCMG and Fraxiom. Then Uncle Howdy appeared and dropped Axiom with a Sister Abigail. Montez Ford closed the segment with a huge dive onto the mass of bodies.
Outside the arena, Jacob Fatu told Jimmy Uso he didn’t need help. Jimmy said he was only showing respect for Jacob stepping up.
SmackDown Women’s Championship – Last Woman Standing
Tiffany Stratton (c) def. Nia Jax
A brutal Last Woman Standing match saw Nia Jax dominate early with a Samoan drop onto the announce table and a splash through a ringside table. Tiffany beat the ten-count each time.
Near the stage, Tiffany used a kendo stick and shoved an equipment case into Nia. Jax came back with the Annihilator—twice—but Tiffany kept rising.
Nia went for a top-rope Samoan drop through a table, but Tiffany countered with a powerbomb. Naomi appeared with the MITB briefcase, but Tiffany turned the tables, cracking Naomi and Nia with it. She followed with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever on both.
In the final moments, Tiffany used the briefcase again to knock Nia off the apron and through two tables. Nia failed to answer the count, and Tiffany retained her title.
John Cena & CM Punk – Final Face-Off
John Cena closed the show, calling himself a genius and claiming CM Punk had been outsmarted. Suddenly, Cena’s old “Word Life” theme hit, and CM Punk emerged dressed like Cena’s early rapper persona.
Punk delivered a savage freestyle, dropping bars like:
“He called me a player hater. But let’s be honest, John Cena’s burying more talent than The Undertaker…”
“I get it. I’d retire too… if this place rehired my ex.”
“You never ate your vitamins, said your prayers, or fixed your bald spot—you’d be a Boston mall cop.”
“Millions chant my name. At you, they chant ‘You can’t wrestle.’”
“He’ll be too busy washing underwear for James Gunn.”
“Tomorrow night you lose to Kendrick… because b*tch, you are my Drake.”
The crowd went wild as Punk dropped the mic to end the show.
