WWE Hall of Famer โ€œThe Million Dollar Manโ€ Ted DiBiase recently took to an episode of his โ€œEverybodyโ€™s Got a Podโ€ podcast, where he talked about a number of topics including how he comes up with promos.

DiBiase said, โ€œI knew what the program was, and I would have an idea, but I never thought it wasnโ€™t until much later when the WWE became the WWE, and they would give you scripted stuff. And I told them even then I said, โ€˜You can give me this, but Iโ€™m not going to say whatโ€™s on this thing word for word. Iโ€™m going to take the idea that I see as being expressed here, and Iโ€™m going to do it my way. Because if it doesnโ€™t, if I donโ€™t do it my way, then itโ€™s not going to sound like me.โ€™ And thatโ€™s what I did. Then they let me do it because they knew I could.โ€

DiBiase also talked about wrestlers following the script word for word and how he was brought up in an old school type of environment not to do that.

โ€œIโ€™m not going to knock it. Thatโ€™s the other thing I donโ€™t. Iโ€™m old school because I was raised in an old school, and thatโ€™s how it worked for me. Iโ€™m not Vince McMahon, and I donโ€™t know all that Vince McMahon knows. Maybe thereโ€™s a reason now for them to follow a script. I just never had to.โ€
