TKO Denies WWE Sale Rumors Amid Vince McMahon Speculation

Despite recent speculation, TKO Group Holdings has firmly denied that WWE is currently for sale. The rumors included theories that Vince McMahon—who resigned earlier this year amid ongoing legal controversy—was exploring options to buy back the company.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed the swirling reports and provided clarity based on his sources.

“The stories of him [Vince McMahon] somehow buying WWE, and I even saw a line in a story about how TKO is looking to sell WWE—and it’s like, aside from that being denied all day,” Meltzer explained. “TKO has just saved between $100 million and $150 million by essentially removing so many jobs… because they could operate UFC and WWE with the same office staff.”

The financial context further supports the denial, as TKO has been focused on streamlining operations between WWE and UFC since the merger, making a sale seem highly unlikely in the immediate future.

McMahon recently made headlines for his attempted business dealings outside WWE, including a failed effort to purchase a stake in BKFC. However, any notion of him returning to a WWE ownership role has been strongly refuted by TKO sources.
