Believe it or not, there was a time when YouTubers were confined to the platform of YouTube. They could gain millions of fans, for sure, but their methods didn’t require a lot of skill – it was done mostly through video game commentaries, daily vlogs, or playing pranks on unsuspecting people.
In other words, while you could give YouTubers a lot of accolades, one thing you couldn’t really describe them as was “talented”.
That was why it was such a shock when Logan Paul announced that he would be fighting rival YouTuber KSI in a boxing match.
The Surprising Success Of Logan Paul
At the time, the popular mindset was that Paul had lost his mind.
Yes, he had achieved millions of subscribers on the internet, but that didn’t mean he would have similar success in the boxing ring. Pulling pranks on people and fighting professionally were, after all, completely different things. One required immaturity and the other required maturity.
But then the first fight happened, and the neigh-sayers were hushed. Paul took to the ring with flair and confidence, taking down MMA legend Dillon Danis and winning after his disqualification.
He also took on Mayweather and stepped out of the ring not as the winner, but not as the loser either. In 2021, Paul made his WWE debut, and he was met with similar success.
Logan Paul’s WWE Future
Logan Paul has undoubtedly displayed his talent to the world, but if we were to look at his career objectively, it isn’t without fault. When it comes to WWE, Paul has been in the game since 2021, and yet he has only really achieved short and sharp bursts during the major events.
You couldn’t really put him in the same league as some of the best WWE fighters, such as Edge, Kevin Owens, or Gunther. His YouTube personality remains strong, and it drags down his WWE career to just a “sideshow” or a “gimmick”.
2023 has been decidedly better, for sure. Paul defeated Dillon Danis once again earlier in October, and he won his first WWE championship after defeating Mysterio at the WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. This points to a bright future if you weren’t to take into account that he only has eight career pro wrestling matches under his belt.
As things are going, Logan Paul is unlikely to be considered one of the big names in WWE. He will need more time in the ring, more consistency, and more determination to achieve that, but it’s safe to say that his presence has already had a huge impact on the sport.
But Paul knows this, of course. In his own words, Paul has said that he needs to be around WWE more after his title win. If he were to do that, then there’s every chance he can continue proving people wrong.

Going back to his boxing career for a second, when Logan Paul fought Mayweather, one of the most surprising things to come out of the fight was Mayweather’s confession afterwards, stating that: “Paul was better than he thought he would be”. This match had the casino sites boasting some tempting odds to fans of Mayweather, but Logan Paul’s fans had their moment when no winner was declared.
When it comes to the odds on Logan Paul’s WWE future, this has to be taken into account. Paul is better than a lot of people thought he would be, and perhaps better than even he thought he would be. What started as little more than a punchline has gradually morphed into a very promising career – one that has attracted many new fans to the sport.
The odds on Logan Paul are constantly changing – growing more and more favourable as his talents progress. Of course, the odds on WWE are largely metaphorical. While many sportsbooks offer odds on the mainstream sports like football and soccer, wrestling has always existed in something of a bubble – somewhere between choreographed entertainment and sport. It’s always had a lot of fans, but Logan Paul’s unconventional route into the sport has brought with it a huge new fanbase.
The Crown Jewel championship win has certainly put things in perspective, and Logan Paul has a hugely bright future if he were to get into WWE on a more regular basis. But it’s up to Paul to decide how badly he wants to keep surprising people.
