ECW legend Tommy Dreamer gave props to Corey Graves for his return to the WWE Monday Night Raw commentary team this week, calling his performance “wonderful” and praising his synergy with Michael Cole.
Speaking on “Busted Open After Dark,” Dreamer addressed Graves’ temporary return to the RAW announce desk on the June 17th episode, where he filled in for Pat McAfee, who was presumably absent due to NBA Finals-related commitments.
“Nice to see Corey Graves back,” Dreamer said. “I thought he did a wonderful job. Him and Michael Cole have such a great synergy and chemistry together.”
Dreamer particularly spotlighted Graves’ commitment to playing a heel commentator — a style that has become increasingly rare in modern wrestling broadcasts.
“He’s one of the few guys that actually plays a heelish role,” Dreamer added, noting how that dynamic helps add depth and contrast to the show’s presentation.
Graves previously held a consistent spot as a color commentator for both RAW and SmackDown, before Pat McAfee transitioned into the full-time role and later made the jump to Monday nights. Since then, Graves has appeared more sporadically, but continues to receive praise for his distinct tone and sharp wit when on commentary.
Fans on social media echoed Dreamer’s sentiments, lauding Graves’ performance and the natural back-and-forth between him and Cole, which has long been a staple of WWE’s broadcast style.
