WWE’s plans for Crown Jewel 2026 in Saudi Arabia have reportedly become a significant topic of internal discussion amid escalating regional security concerns, a new U.S. Embassy warning, and reports of attacks on airports in the country.
As previously reported by PWMania.com, the U.S. Department of State issued a Level 3 travel advisory for Saudi Arabia last month, urging American citizens to reconsider traveling to the country. Certain areas are also subject to Level 4 warnings.
On Wednesday, October 7, the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Saudi Arabia issued an additional security alert advising American citizens to “exercise heightened vigilance” due to the ongoing security situation and public threats from Yemen’s Houthi forces against airports and airspace.
The alert warned of possible flight cancellations, airspace closures, and other travel disruptions, while encouraging citizens to keep a low profile and avoid demonstrations, large gatherings, and areas with a heavy police presence.
The Embassy stated:
“Due to the ongoing security situation in Saudi Arabia and Houthi public threats against airports and airspace across Saudi Arabia, the U.S. Mission reminds all U.S. citizens to exercise heightened vigilance. The Houthis have engaged in hostilities against Saudi Arabia, including against civilian airports, and the military conflict has the potential to escalate. U.S. citizens should be aware of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions. We recommend checking your flight departure status directly with the airline and with the airport.”
The situation has reportedly intensified further.
According to Reuters, Yemen’s Houthi forces claimed responsibility for an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which reportedly resulted in an aircraft catching fire and sustaining damage. The report also noted that three people had been killed in recent attacks on Saudi airports.
These developments have raised additional questions surrounding WWE’s upcoming Crown Jewel premium live event, scheduled for November 7 at Riyadh Season Stadium in the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD).
According to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com, whether WWE will proceed with its planned November event in Saudi Arabia has become a significant topic of conversation within the company.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select previously reported that several individuals within WWE who regularly travel to Saudi Arabia for events had been asking about potential changes or rescheduling due to the ongoing conflict and travel concerns.
The latest developments add another layer of uncertainty, particularly given the potential for disruptions to international travel and airport operations.
Despite the reported internal discussions, WWE has not publicly announced any changes to Crown Jewel’s scheduled date, location, or venue.
Previous reports indicated that construction preparations were moving forward for the temporary outdoor stadium expected to host the event.
WWE is also scheduled to bring WrestleMania 43 to Riyadh in April 2027, making the situation particularly noteworthy as the company prepares for two major events in Saudi Arabia over the coming months.
For now, Crown Jewel remains scheduled for November 7 in Riyadh, although questions surrounding the event’s logistics and security continue to be discussed as the regional situation develops.
